This is an original wool pile liner to be worn under the M-1943 Field Jacket, a masterpiece adopted by the U.S. Army during World War II. At the time, this liner was not designed to be attached directly to the jacket, but rather to be worn as an inner layer to enhance cold protection. Therefore, this product boasts a level of perfection that allows the liner to stand alone as a warm-weather garment.
The outer fabric is a durable olive drab cotton poplin, and the lining is a high-density pile wool fur. It is lightweight and supple for comfort while providing overwhelming warmth for the extremely cold European front. The rib-knit collar and sleeves prevent cold air from entering, and the softly curved silhouette is somewhat modern and attractive, not unlike military wear.
Please note that this is a button-front garment, and the bottom button is missing. However, the rest of the garment is in very good condition considering its age, with no crushed or torn piles, making it a valuable piece that retains its original specifications. There are handwritten letters inside that appear to be the soldier's personal name.
In recent years, the style of wearing this liner as outerwear has spread, and this item is highly supported by military fashion lovers. It is truly a "masterpiece known only to those in the know" that combines functionality, design, and rarity. Because it is a used item, returns are not possible. Please understand.
