1962 Contract N-2B Flight Jacket (Black Tag) / MIL-J-6278D (USAF) / Size Medium.As a short length Air Force jacket designed for the extreme cold weather "heavy zone", this was one of the most popular models in the U.S. Air Force in the 1960s.

This item is a government-issued item manufactured by WISCONSIN MFG CO., INC. under the 1962 contract. It will be a rare piece with a black base spec tag unique to the early years of the contract. Vintage CONMAR zipper on the front. This N-2B is a genuine N-2B that retains the specifications of the time in both functionality and detailing. The body is made of a nylon shell with padding and lined with awool pile liner (100% wool). In addition, the large, integrated coyote fur-style hood boasts outstanding cold- and wind-resistance. This item is in overall very good condition, with minimal fraying and stretching of the knit ribs, and can be worn for a long time.There is a slight tear on the inner hood lining. There is no color loss and the nylon remains shiny. Individuals in such good condition are becoming harder to find every year.
