This item is a "PARKA, EXTREME COLD WEATHER " model adopted by the U.S. military for use in extremely cold regions , and falls into a rare lot from the mid-1980s with a particularly small production number. A feature unique to this period is the use of resin (plastic) sliders on the front zipper instead of metal, which is a maniacal point of identification of this model. Unlike the metal zipper type of the mass-production period, the quantity of distribution is extremely limited, so it is treated as a " special piece for those in the know " among enthusiasts.
Furthermore, this parka is a completely dead stock item that has never been used. The military-like stiffness and puckering are still intact, and it looks as if it has been taken out of a time capsule. The label on the back is clearly readable, the manufacturer is ISRATEX, INC. and the size is the popular LARGE.
The hood usually has a contract label, but this one has been removed. However, it is clear from the material and sewing that it is the original, and this is thought to have been done during storage. The M-65 parka itself, which is issued by the U.S. military, is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain, and it is expected that the market value of an unused item with unique specifications will increase even more in the future.
