The "Jungle Fatigue Jacket" was developed by the U.S. Army in the 1960s for combat in tropical regions. This is one of the most valuable "3rd model" jackets from around 1967. The material used is not ripstop, but cotton poplin, an early 3rd model that is lightweight and highly breathable, with specifications that pursue functionality in hot environments. It is also a good size, L-R.

The greatest feature is that the contract notation is sewn in the style of the 2nd model period. This is a detail seen on "transitional models" manufactured during the transitional period from the 2nd to the 3rd model , and the year of manufacture is clearly indicated as "DSA-100-2113. The gas flap has been omitted, but the other sewing specifications and the texture of the material are eclectic, retaining strong vestiges of the 2nd model, making this a very interesting item from a collector's point of view.

The size is LARGE-REGULAR, a rare size, and as most of the pieces that appear in Japan are mainly size S to M, it is also recommended for those who value size. The overall condition of the fabric is very good, with no noticeable damage. However, there is a handwritten name "HOUTCHENS" on the front and back body in several places, and there is also a backside copy. It is thought that this was written by a soldier at that time to show that it was his own property, and it is a valuable trace that tells the real background of use. In addition to the few existing non-rip 3rd models, this piece is full of details that are unique to the transitional period. It is an outstanding piece of military wear with practicality, historical value, and presence.
