The jacket is a jump jacket that was personally ordered by a tailor in the 1950s from a soldier who belonged to the 11th Airborne Division, which was based in Sendai, Japan, during the occupation. The M51 and M43 field jackets were the main combat uniforms from the late 1940s to the 1950s. It is assumed that this soldier, who had a longing for jump jackets and wanted to symbolize the paratroopers, brought the khaki color distribution cloth, parachute camouflage fabric, and belt buckle to a tailor in Sendai before returning to Japan, and had them manufactured just to see what they would look like. A locally made Japanese 11th AB patch is sewn on the chest and a "SENDAI TAILAR HAMADAYA" label is sewn on the back of the neck.

The jacket itself is in good condition and has never been worn. The surface of the jacket is made of a hard, thick fabric that is not used for clothing, but for a cover like hanpu. The lining is leftover fabric from camouflage parachutes used at the time. On the back you can see the joints of the parachute, so you can tell that a piece of parachute was brought in instead of the original fabric. Most notable are the engine-colored metal buttons used on the pockets. The color of the buttons is very Japanese, and they are definitely not military-standard buttons, but civilian ones. The jacket is also made with delicate stitching like a suit jacket, rather than the sturdier sewing of military uniforms, so it can be said that this jacket was ordered to be worn after returning to Japan as a memento. It is clear that no actual jump jackets were on hand, and details such as the position of the pockets and the pleats on the back are different from the actual jump jacket.
